Even the ducks have left the pond and are fussing about on land.

“Quack quack!” says Mother Duck. “We don’t want to swim today. The water makes us itchy.”

At the park all the fish in the pond are facing the same way. Some of them are jumping into the air; others have landed outside the pond.

“What’s the
matter?” Emily
asks the fish.
She puts them
back in the pond.
“You know you
can’t breathe out of water.”
